Welcome to Preserve South Dakota!
PRESERVE SOUTH DAKOTA IS PRESENTLY INACTIVE. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Here at PSD, our mission is to champion the preservation of historic places through education, advocacy, and assistance. Of course, one reason we’re here is simply that we like historic places for the character they add to our communities; but, more importantly, we also know that the preservation of historic places can spur economic development, foster community pride, and build bridges among community groups. That’s why we’re here: to ensure that our historic resources are treasured in the present so that they can contribute to the future of our communities.
We encourage you to learn more about how PSD is making an impact in South Dakota, and then contact us to find out how you can get involved. PSD’s success depends on our grassroots volunteers who support our mission and participate in the work of our organization. So read on, get involved, and spread the word! Together, we can preserve South Dakota!
Preserve South Dakota, formerly “The Historic South Dakota Foundation,” is a 501c3 nonprofit corporation. It was founded in 1978 by a group of concerned citizens who saw a growing need to protect and preserve historic places throughout the state. We are a grassroots volunteer organization supported by those committed to historic preservation and economic development.
